Art Experiences is a class that answers the “who, what, why, when and how” of art in past and present times. Students learn the basic, necessary skills and elements of art, alongside the lives of the great masters and new contemporary artists. All in a fun and encouraging atmosphere that sparks their own creativity. The fundamental elements and principles of art will be emphasized. The most important aspects of the art projects are discovery, exploration, and individual creativity. Independent thinking is encouraged, while skills and responsibility are met through individual decisions. Artists that will inspire our creations are Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Georgia O’Keeffe and many more!

This class introduces all of the art elements and principles in a fun, encouraging and engaging way! Young artists will create beautiful projects that are bright, colorful, unique and filled with artistic foundations and techniques. Many different media will be explored including paint, pencils, pastels, and ink. A wide variety of styles will be introduced such as drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, mixed media and collage. Our classes strive to encourage students to create works of art that are guided but open-ended, allowing them to choose and make their own art decisions while completing a cohesive project that they can be excited about.

Session 1- Mondays 2/3, 2/10, 2/17, 2/24
Tuesdays 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, 2/25

Session 3 - Mondays 3/31, 4/14, 4/21, 4/28 (no class 4/7)

Spring Sessions run February through April
Each session teaches new and different concepts and content!

Classes are offered in 4 week sessions for $68 for a 1 hour class. All supplies are provided and a one time registration fee of $10 is required.

Please fill out the registration form and we will send you an email with an invoice. Please let us know if you are a SUFS scholarship student. Payment can be made in person or by mail. We also accept PayPal and Venmo.

Session payment must be paid at or before the first class.
​
Cancellation Policy-By registering your child you agree that you will receive an email invoice before each session or art class, payment is due on or before the first class. If you must cancel your registration before the class begins PLEASE let us know as we hold your child’s space in good faith. If Aurora Light Arts cancels a lesson we will offer make up options. If your child cannot attend a class that has been paid for there will be an option for a make up class. There are no refunds. Please contact us for emergency or extenuating circumstances.

Upcoming Special Workshops
We are so excited to introduce our new Wonderful Art Wednesday Workshops! These one time, stand alone workshops will be filled with fun themed art projects and activities for your student to enjoy! We will incorporate all the fundamental art elements and principles while creating amazing projects and learning about so many different subjects. From animals to fantastical creatures, global cultures to nature and science these workshops will make art a wonderful learning and creative experience for your child! Workshops will be for ages 4+,
Wonderful Art Wednesday Workshops are super fun 75 minute classes that are filled with 2 complete projects that focus on special themes and fun activities. The cost is $25 per student and all materials are provided.
Our next workshop is 4/23 and the theme is Under the Sea and we are creating a Colorful Seahorse Canvas and Cute Sea creature Postcards!

Who We Are
Aurora Light Arts is a creative endeavor started by myself and my family to bring fun, creative and inspiring classes, works of art and hand made products to our community. My name is Dawn Meyer and I am so excited to teach your children and share with them my love for art and creativity! I have homeschooled my own 4 children and I have thoroughly enjoyed my role as a homeschool mom. I have a degree in Art Education and have taught art in many schools and enrichment programs over the past 25 years and I always enjoy the opportunity to teach more art classes.

My daughter Grace is an amazing artist who is starting her career as a creator and also enjoys teaching special workshops and helping in our art classes. She has created delightful designs from local wildlife we will offer on our website.
​
Our classes are focused on encouraging your young artist to be confident in their own abilities and creative intuition, alongside learning art fundamentals and exploring art in the world around us. My classes strive to encourage students to create works of art that are guided but open-ended, allowing them to choose and make their own art decisions while completing a cohesive project that they can be excited about. We desire to help children embrace their God given creativity and imagination, and to celebrate their own unique abilities.
